Biography
Flora Malpas is an artist-educator and a graduate of City and Guilds of London Art School (2018), Heatherley School of Fine Art (2017) and Goldsmiths College (2013). Her practice spans printmaking, drawing and painting and is focused on an investigation of a sense of presence and absence within the landscape.
Malpas was recently shortlisted for the Young Contemporary Talent Purchase Prize 2019, organised by the Ingram Collection, and has previously been awarded the Slaughterhaus Printmaking Prize, the City and Guilds of London Art School Prize for Outstanding Work in Print and the Lee and Thompson LLP Prize for Portraiture. In 2019 she completed an AA2A residency within the printmaking department at the University of Hertfordshire and was selected for a solo exhibition by Brent Arts at Stables in Exile, London.
Selected group exhibitions include: the Institute of Mental Health, Nottingham; City Gallery, Peterborough; Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, London and the Old Print Works, Birmingham.
Malpas divides her practice between the print room and her studio in Hertfordshire.
